FID Intel — Bio & Positioning

Nate Bear — Profile Update

Background & Career

  • Location/age: Confirmed 40-year-old from Marietta, Georgia.
  • Construction detail: Worked as a construction manager renovating retail stores (McDonald's, Home Depot); worked nights answering calls until 2 AM, sometimes forced to leave his family entirely for work.
  • Financial-hardship origin: Lived paycheck to paycheck after having kids; describes feeling like a failure as a provider.
  • Family: Stated to have 4 kids; family financial freedom is the recurring motivation.
  • Education: Georgia Tech, reframed as "the MIT of the South."
  • Discovery arc: Found a "hidden pattern" (the squeeze) allowing fast gains vs. buy-and-hold; sharpened skills by joining a private trading community after reading his mentor's book.
  • Mentor: Anonymized author based in Austin, TX (blurred $18M/2020 X screenshot — internally flagged as John Carter).
  • "Coming out of retirement" narrative: stepped away citing COVID, family, and achieved financial freedom; returning now as a "Tom Brady moment," framing the sprint challenge as once-in-a-lifetime.
  • Verification framing: Copy claims MTA performed "forensic accounting"-style verification of his $2.7M via brokerage accounts and tax returns, confirmed by five independent reviewers.

How He's Positioned

  • Persona: Self-taught underdog — broke construction worker / family man, no Wall Street background, no finance degree — who cracked a market secret ("I've been in your shoes").
  • "Minivan Millionaire" everyman brand; trading from a minivan / spare-minutes framing (note: in tension with the 2–7 trades/day, 9-sessions-per-week reality).
  • Radical-transparency angle: Pitched as the first trader to livestream real trades with his own money on camera daily until he repeats the $37K→$1M sprint challenge — spectator/skin-in-the-game positioning.
  • Signature methods:
    • TPS System (Trend → Pattern → Squeeze).
    • The "squeeze pattern" — explained via pole-vaulter / slingshot momentum analogies.
    • Options as leverage"soda can" and driving analogies to overcome options fear.
    • Ten-Bagger Earnings Plays (post-earnings-drift bonus strategy).
  • Recurring themes: Timing over holding (invokes WD Gann — "master time, master the markets"); where money flows (AI and quantum computing); rejecting both buy-and-hold and "AI-in-name-only" stocks; risk rules ("never lose the same money twice," 10% max position sizing).

⚠️ INTERNAL ONLY: Came from RagingBull (student of Jason Bond). Not mentioned publicly due to RagingBull credibility issues. ⚠️ INTERNAL ONLY: The TTM Squeeze indicator Nate uses was created by a trader/author based in Austin, TX who made $18M in 2020 — almost certainly John Carter (author of Mastering the Trade, creator of TTM Squeeze Pro). One promo refers to him as Nate's "Yoda from afar" and instructs the design team to blur out "John's" name and face. Do not attribute publicly.

Full Bio

Nate graduated from Georgia Tech in 2005 with a bachelor's in building construction. From there, he went straight into the 9-to-5 grind. Two years later, he threw off the corporate shackles and started his own small business.

Managing his business, United States Permit, from home gave him room to dabble in trading. He started slowly in 2008, trading with just a $1,000 account. Like most beginning traders, Nate struggled at first — blowing up that first $1,000 account and even another $10,000 account.

Then, in 2015, his son was born, and Nate realized the core reason he wanted to be a successful trader. It wasn't about money. He wanted to quit the 60-hour grind of running a small business. From that point on, he committed to figuring out how to make serious money from trading.

The biggest pivot was to think of trading like a business. He needed a system that would deliver consistent wins. By working with veteran traders, he discovered the TPS system that worked. Nate started making more money from trading than from his building business and went full-time in 2016. Within a couple of years, his trading portfolio surpassed $1 million.

In the meantime, Nate's family continued to grow — at one point, six people and three dogs living in a 1,200-square-foot home. As his trading career took off, his family relocated to an area with amazing schools and moved into a much bigger house.

"It was like a huge glass of ice water after a long walk in the desert."
