FID Intel — Bio & Positioning

Matt McCall — Guru Profile

Background & Career

  • Veteran Wall Street analyst with 25+ years identifying technology trends before mainstream Wall Street.
  • Self-describes disillusionment with mainstream financial media, framing it as prioritizing ratings and household-name stocks over small-cap opportunities that serve viewers' retirement accounts ("Your retirement account is NOT top priority to the top brass at a TV network").
  • Positions himself as a long-time Elon Musk follower/early supporter, claiming to have tracked Musk's moves for decades to help source his best winners.
  • Developed a proprietary trend-timing framework he calls "The Innovation Curve."
  • Coined the term "The Musk Stampede" to describe a recurring investment pattern.

Credentials & Media

  • Former Fox Business analyst/contributor; claims 1,000+ combined television appearances across Fox Business, CNBC, and CNN.
  • Appeared alongside Fox Business hosts Charles Payne and Neil Cavuto.
  • Editor of The McCall Innovation Report.

How They're Positioned

  • Persona: The innovation/growth insider who spots world-changing technology trends early — part media-savvy TV veteran, part contrarian who distrusts the "mainstream media machine."
  • Core angle: Buy small, ignored companies at an "Innovation Curve" inflection — after a technology or policy catalyst is proven but before Wall Street prices it in.

Signature Methods & Mechanisms

  • The Innovation Curve: entry timing after proof-of-concept, before mainstream adoption.
  • The Musk Stampede: Musk validates a dismissed industry (payments, EVs, solar, space, AI, now biology/Neuralink), and the biggest gains flow to enabler/supplier companies around him — not Musk's own company.
  • Enabler / "picks-and-shovels" basket investing: owning multiple related suppliers rather than a single headline stock ("buy the bottleneck").
  • Government-catalyst / resource-nationalism plays: betting on stocks positioned to benefit from Trump-administration mining/critical-minerals policy.

Recurring Themes

  • Megatrends and small-cap/under-the-radar growth.
  • AI applied to biology and drug discovery; Neuralink/brain-computer interfaces; GLP-1/obesity drugs.
  • Critical minerals, rare earths, deep-sea mining, and U.S.–China supply-chain competition.
  • National security framing around tech and resources.
  • FOMO/regret framing around past mega-winners the audience "missed."

Stated Beliefs

  • Musk validates entire industries, triggering capital stampedes.
  • Biggest wins come from ignored small companies, not household names.
  • AI applied to biology is bigger than AI applied to software.
  • One extraordinary winner can justify an entire basket.

Editorial Guides

  • The McCall Method — This guide establishes Matt McCall's core investment philosophy—the "McCall Method"—centered on identifying transformational innovation before it becomes obvious to the broader market, rather than analyzing stocks through traditional valuation or technical metrics. It introduces the proprietary "McCall Innovation Curve™" (Stages 0-5, from lab research through mainstream saturation), a framework editors can reference to contextualize where a technology or stock sits in its adoption lifecycle, plus his concept of focused "Innovation Themes" and concentrated portfolio construction favoring long-term compounding winners over diversification.
  • The McCall Innovation Curve — Matt's proprietary 6-stage (0–5) investment framework extending Rogers' diffusion model; the backbone of his voice, branding ("Where is this on the Curve?"), and product ladder (First Move → MIR → future premium tiers).

Historic Predictions & Recommendations

  • Aug 2007 (start of the crash) — told Wall Street Journal readers not to panic and to focus on the long term: "It's not the greatest one-week trade but if you can look out further, it's a great time and you'll look back and say, 'Why was I so scared?'" The Dow has since risen 300% (52,600 points).
  • Late 2008 — called the bottom of the financial crisis on Fox News Bulls and Bears and warned viewers not to give up on the market. Released The Next Great Bull Market in 2009.
  • 2012 — before Facebook's hyped IPO, went on CNN and told viewers to be patient (~2 weeks) and set a limit ~20% below the IPO-day closing price. It hit that level; investors could have made as much as 2,483% since.
  • 2014 — early supporter of Bitcoin on Fox Business, before it soared as much as 19,615%.
  • 2019 — predicted 5G would "unleash the market's next trillion-dollar winner"; 5 companies have since hit a trillion-dollar market cap, in large part due to 5G advancement.
  • Recommended all of the Magnificent 7 before they became the Mag 7, most for 1,000%+ returns.

  • "Whether you are a seasoned veteran or a novice investor, The Next Great Bull Market is a must read for anyone serious about getting ahead in our ever changing global economy…" — Dan Connolly, equity trader, Chicago

  2. Fox Business decade / “if you’ve watched Fox Business” — Recurring credibility open.

    • Quote: “You may remember me from the decade I spent on national television… where I made over 1,000 appearances on Fox Business, CNBC, and CNN…” (Promo Copy - XAI Chess DIRECT alt lead FULL sb3.md). Musk Stampede: “If you've watched Fox Business…”
    • Conflict: Experts Media says 1,500+ network appearances; several XAI scripts say 1,000+ / “more than 1,000.” Prefer Experts/publisher wiki until Legal picks one.
  3. 2009 Fox “$20 basket” live giveaway — Formative on-air proof anecdote in Skousen Meltup analysis (AMD, Ford, BofA, Kodak, GM → hypo $20→$1,380).

  5. Books as credential props — Swing Trader’s Bible; Next Great Bull Market (2009). Experts Books section.

  6. FOX Business crisis giveaway (Mar 6, 2009) + “been there, done that” on Wall Street — In The Anthropic IPO Is a Trap VSL he retells going live on FOX Business at the S&P low (666) and giving away nine cheap stocks (AMD/Ford/BofA among survivors; Kodak & GM later bankrupt). Closes with anti–Wall Street everyman stance.

    • Quotes: “That’s when I went live on FOX Business and gave away nine stocks.” / “Wall Street for me is kind of “been there, done that.” … What lights me up… is helping regular people.” / “o tell you what I tell my own friends and family.”

    • Overlaps the 2009 “$20 basket” / nine-stock motif in Skousen Meltup analysis — same era proof, different packaging; do not invent tickers beyond those named in-script.

1. At a glance

  • Name: Matthew Denis McCall ("Matt") [IAPD]. Current role: Head Innovations Strategist, Monument Traders Alliance. He edits the McCall Innovation Report (XAI) and the free daily The First Move with Matt McCall (issue #1 on Aug 3, 2026) [MTA-WHO][MIR-MATRIX][FM-MATRIX][MTA-FM1].
  • Born: about 1976. This is inferred; the exact date of birth is not found. The inference rests on four lines: "at six years old… August 1982" and "one happy 24-year old in grad school" in 2000 [BOOK l.960-962] ✓; "41-year-old" in Mar 2017 [VN2017]; "the 45 years I've been on this earth" in Oct 2021 [SIH228] ✓.
  • The arc in one line: Bethlehem Steel kid who grew up poor outside Philadelphia → washed out of four colleges on football scholarships → finance degree at Kutztown → Schwab broker in Denver (May 2000) → Wall Street Radio co-host → founded Penn Financial Group (2004–2021) → Fox News / Fox Business regular → two Wiley books → CrowdVest → InvestorPlace → Stansberry → NXT Wave → MTA [DOSSIER §0].

2. Early life, hometown, family

Hometown. "Matt grew up poor in a very small town outside Philadelphia, next to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania." [AC1] ✓ The specific town is not found. Venture Nashville called him "a 41-year-old Pennsylvanian" in 2017 [VN2017].

A Bethlehem Steel family. "His whole family – his father, grandfather, and uncles – worked for Bethlehem Steel." After the layoffs the family had to leave "their nice house for a much smaller one 'on the wrong side of the tracks in the city.'" [AC1] ✓ His 2009 book returns to it as a lesson in "buy and ignore": "Many of the elder investors owned shares of Bethlehem Steel, including my grandfather who worked at the company, and never imagined the once thriving steel company's stock price would fall to zero." [BOOK l.267-271] ✓ (Editorial note: this is the only place in the sources where his family history is tied directly to an investing lesson. It is strong origin-story material.)

Father leaves; oldest of five. "When Matt was 12 years old, his father left. And being the oldest of five kids, Matt had to grow up quick..." [AC1] ✓ His father was still in the picture later: he held the inheritance check and "begged him to do something 'productive' with it" [AC1] ✓.

Mother. She raised the kids on little money: "my mom couldn't afford them [Nikes and Adidas]" [AC1] ✓. Her name, and whether she is living, are not found.

Grandparents. His grandfather worked at Bethlehem Steel and owned the stock [BOOK]. His grandmother's death left him the $10,000 that started his investing [AC1].

Siblings. He is the oldest of five [AC1]. Their names are not found.

Marriage. He mentions an ex-wife in passing: "any time the market would be down, I'd be losing sleep, my ex-wife would – it didn't help our relationship, put it that way, ex-wife." [SIH228] ✓ In the 2000s his "then-wife was a buyer for Nordstrom clothing, specifically denim" [AC2] ✓. Her name, the dates, any current partner, and any children are not found.

Family as a foil. "if you ask anybody in my family, they would never agree with you" (that he is patient) [SIH172] ✓. Growing up, sports were the household's financial literacy: "My family, we'd read the sports pages cover to cover – I could tell you the stat of any player in any league... But I didn't know the first thing about the Dow Jones… We didn't learn that stuff at home or in school." [AC1] ✓

3. Childhood hustle and the chip on his shoulder

  • Tartar sauce: "making tartar sauce every day after school at the fish shop across the street from his house" [AC1] ✓.
  • Lawn care at 15: he made flyers and put them on doors and windshields [AC1].
  • Snow: "Other kids might have been building snowmen or having snowball fights, but I was knocking on doors... 'Five bucks, I'll shovel your driveway.'" [AC1] ✓
  • Football cards: "Probably why I've been hustling even since grade school... selling football cards, cutting lawns, you know, up to something" [AC1] ✓.
  • The MacGregor sneakers: "Other kids had nice, expensive shoes, like Nikes and Adidas, but my mom couldn't afford them. So I wore these cheap sneakers. They were called MacGregors, and I got made fun of for wearing them. I hated it. I knew I was better than them, even in my Dollar Store shoes." [AC1] ✓
  • The drive: "I've always been told I'm not good enough, so I always have to prove them wrong." [AC1] ✓ / "My biggest fear in life is being considered mediocre... 80% of the people I grew up with are still in the same town, living within a 10-mile radius of the house they were born in. I knew I had to get out to be successful." [AC1] ✓

4. Sports, gambling, and the jockey

  • He played football through high school and then on scholarships [AC1].
  • Skipping school for the track: "back in high school I used to skip school all the time and go to the Philadelphia park and bet on the ponies. Never won, but there was this old guy there who always won. And he pulled us aside, one day, and he says, 'Listen, guys, you got to bet on the jockey.' … I think his last name is Prada – always winning, always winning, didn't matter about the horse, he bet on the jockey." [SIH228] ✓
  • He called himself a "degenerate gambler" at the time and "loved sports betting" [AC1] ✓.
  • The lesson became a pillar of his investing: "You shouldn't bet on the horse – you bet on the jockey. And Elon Musk is a visionary... I remember thinking 'whatever this guy invests in, wherever he goes, I'm along for the ride.'" [AC2] ✓

5. Education

  • Four colleges, four flunk-outs. He won a football scholarship to "a small local college but flunked out after the first year." Then "He repeated this three more times at three other undergrad colleges… until he blew out his shoulder and couldn't play anymore." [AC1] ✓ The names of those colleges are not found.
  • Kutztown University of Pennsylvania. He arrived planning to become a gym teacher [AC1]. He bartended at night. After one shift: "It would take me more than a week to make this kind of money as a gym teacher." [AC1] ✓ After his first stock win he "switched his major… took many 21-credit semesters to graduate with a degree in finance from Kutztown University." [AC1] ✓ CONFLICT on the degree level: see §13.
  • MBA, University of Colorado (Denver), earned while at Schwab [AC1][INVESTOPEDIA][AMAZON]. He was "one happy 24-year old in grad school" in 2000 [BOOK l.962] ✓. His book byline reads "Matthew McCall, MBA" [AMAZON].
  • Licenses (SEC IAPD, CRD 4225412): Series 7 (10/19/2000), 66 (6/9/2004), 65 (7/27/2004), 82 (6/27/2017), 24 (8/2/2017), 63 (3/12/2018), SIE (10/1/2018). All are now inactive, which is consistent with a publisher role [IAPD]. No CFA or CFP was found.

6. How he found investing (the origin story)

"As Matt wrestled with the decision of whether to continue pursuing his college education or not, his grandmother passed away. She left Matt $10,000, but before Matt's father would give him the check, he first begged him to do something 'productive' with it." Matt, then a self-described "degenerate gambler," "put it in the stock market. Matt doubled his money fairly quickly... and he was hooked." [AC1] ✓ He calls that first win "beginner's luck" [AC1].

Influences:

  • Peter Lynch. Asked who inspired his investing, he named Lynch, "one of the greatest investors ever." His version of Lynch: "People should literally walk the streets where they live for investing inspiration." [AC2] ✓
  • His Schwab boss. The two were "investment junkies," "jotting notes on sticky cocktail napkins for various options strategies" [AC1] ✓.
  • An unnamed Wall Street veteran: "Matt, I could wake up everyday and give you 50 reasons not to buy stocks today, and it's been the same way since the beginning of the stock market." [SIH228] ✓
  • The racetrack "Prada" (bet on the jockey) [SIH228]. Elon Musk: he calls himself a "fanboy" [AC2].
  • Aspirational models: "reading Stansberry back in the day when I had my own newsletter with a couple hundred subscribers, thinking to myself, 'Boy, that's where I want to be one day.' Same thing with Fox News, I used to watch those guys on the weekend…" [SIH228] ✓

Baskets, not bets "We always do baskets because I don't know what stock's going to be the best stock." [SIH172] ✓ The book-era "conversification" idea (below)
Conversification "conversification is the perfect mixture of concentration and diversification" [BOOK l.6252-6259] ✓ Coined in the 2009 book. Connell McShane's blurb cites it
Vulture / anti "buy and ignore" Bethlehem Steel as the cautionary tale [BOOK l.267-271] ✓ His grandfather's stock going to zero
Long holds, simple rules "It's not tough to be a good investor... You put money away, you invest in good companies, and you let it go." / "Investing is actually very simple... do you think this is going to be a bigger company in five years or not?" [AC2] ✓ Crisis-era client hand-holding
Temperament "I'm a hypochondriac in real life, and I'm very impatient in real life. But when it comes to the stock market, it's the exact opposite." [SIH172] ✓ / "I'm OK to move to cash. I'm not going to be the guy to start shorting stocks." [SIH172] ✓ Early losses weighed on him: "I took every up and down in the market personally… the market doesn't care about you" [SIH228] ✓
Anti-Wall-Street, anti-media "I'm the most anti-Wall-Street guy there is." / "The media is not there to educate you. It's there to get your eyes or your clicks." [AC2] ✓ The Schwab script; Fox burnout

McCall Innovation Curve™ (2026) Six stages, 0 Spark → 5 Saturation, adapted from Everett Rogers [CURVE][MIR-MATRIX] Formalized at MTA

9. Formative wins and losses (as he tells them)

  • First win: he doubled the $10,000 inheritance "fairly quickly" and calls it beginner's luck [AC1].
  • Citigroup at $4.02 (Nov 21, 2008): "bought shares of Citigroup at $4.02 per share. The next Monday the stock opened at $6.12 and I quickly sold at $6.00 for a profit of nearly 50 percent." / "Granted I was a short-term vulture…" [BOOK l.130-140] ✓
  • The GE he didn't buy (Mar 4, 2009): on a commercial break with Tracy Byrnes: "how can I not buy GE (General Electric) at $6?" It doubled in a month. "The GE situation was a case where the vulture investor inside me saw the carnage, but did not have the fortitude to go with my investing instincts." [BOOK l.140-150] ✓ This is an honest miss, and useful for relatability.
  • The house he didn't overbuy (Aug 2007): [BOOK l.432-440] ✓
  • Early-career loss pain: "any time the market would be down, I'd be losing sleep" [SIH228] ✓.
  • Being early on the bottom: "I was saying the same thing last October. This has to be the bottom… I've been early" (Mar 2009 Fox Business web segment) [AJ-VIDEO] (machine transcript).
  • Public calls such as WSJ 2007, the 2008 bottom, the Facebook IPO, Bitcoin 2014, and Tesla are CLAIMS. See the Experts file's "Historic Predictions" section and DOSSIER §8 for the exact wording and legal notes.

10. Personal interests and hobbies

  • Surfing: "I love to surf." (Innovation Investor, Jun 3, 2021) [II-2021-06] ✓
  • Nicaragua "southern office": "I am spending a few months in my 'southern office' in Nicaragua. I enjoy the beauty of this part of the world." [II-2021-06] ✓ He now lives in Nicaragua [per Stephen Prior, publisher, Sept 25, 2026].
  • Fitness: "I also own a small exercise studio in Baltimore that is doing well (and is a great place to work out and burn off stress!)" (Nov 2020) [IP2020-11] ✓ He also had "a nice new scooter at home in Baltimore" (2021) [II-2021-06] ✓.
  • Longevity / preventive health: MTA's First Move plan lists "Matt's personal longevity-clinic experiences (full-body scans, biomarker testing)" as a story category [FM-MATRIX]. This is an internal plan; confirm details with Matt.
  • Sports: a stats obsessive [AC1]. "I hate the Yankees" [SIH228] ✓. His own team is not found.
  • Golf: he attended a MarketWise golf tournament in 2021 [SIH228]. How often he plays is not found.
  • Gadgets and futurism: "I sat in one at CES… it was made by Hyundai… I sat in one made by Bell" (eVTOL flying cars) [SIH228] ✓. Yeti cooler convert (below).
  • Public speaking: "I love speaking in public" [SIH228] ✓.

  • Politics: "I'm about as middle as they come." [SIH172] ✓
  • Residences over time: Denver → NY metro (2007) → Nashville + New York (2017) → Baltimore (2020–21) + Nicaragua stints [DOSSIER §5]. Lives in Nicaragua now [per Stephen Prior, publisher, Sept 25, 2026].

11. Recurring stories and how he tells them (verbatim)

  1. The MacGregors: "I knew I was better than them, even in my Dollar Store shoes." [AC1] ✓
  2. Snow-shovel hustle: "'Five bucks, I'll shovel your driveway.'" [AC1] ✓
  3. The mediocrity fear: "80% of the people I grew up with are still in the same town…" [AC1] ✓
  4. $200 bar night vs gym teacher [AC1] ✓
  5. Grandma's $10,000: from gambler to investor [AC1] ✓

  8. Frasier on the radio: "my feet up on the desk, taking live calls" [AC1] ✓
  9. Tuna Helper in the Denver kitchen: "$0.49 for the can of tuna, $0.99 for the box of Tuna Helper." [AC2] ✓
  10. The JC Penney suit: "the rest of them were in expensive, $3,000 suits, and here I was in my cheap suit from JC Penney, two sizes too big, tie a mess, hair all over the place..." (next to Tobin Smith, Meredith Whitney, and Jack Welch) [AC2] ✓
  11. Drinking the Kool-Aid: "a driver... and an oversized ego" [AC2]. Telling Fox bookers "Sure, Obama's the worst thing ever, he's going to ruin the economy," because I knew they'd put me on." [SIH228] ✓ Fox-viewer clients who wanted to "sell everything" after Obama's election [SIH172] ✓. (The political content is dated. Use it only as a media-sensationalism lesson.)
  12. Subway in the Fox basement: "The subway actually stopped in the basement of Fox, the next stop was next to my house" [SIH228] ✓
  13. True Religion jeans [AC2] ✓
  14. Citigroup $4.02 / GE at $6 [BOOK] ✓
  15. "A cross between a shrink and an operator on a suicide hotline" (2008–09) [BOOK l.195] ✓ → later "I'm a shrink half the time, just kind of talking you off the ledge." [SIH228] ✓ (Sensitive wording. Prefer the later "shrink" line for MTA copy.)
  16. Going live on Fox with nine stocks for a $20 bill (Mar 2009): "it was kind of something I started out of fun" [AJ-VIDEO]. Retold in the XAI VSL: "That's when I went live on FOX Business and gave away nine stocks." (/workspace/mta/promos/xai/text/61eb2.txt)
  17. The $25 trade: after selling Penn: "it's going to cost you $25 per trade." / "Who pays to trade anymore?" He uses this to explain the case for blockchain and DeFi [SIH228] ✓
  18. Nicaragua throttle crash: "the throttle got stuck... in the open position. I slammed into a fence and ended up with a few stitches in my leg… I think I took boots-on-the-ground research to a new level... bike-on-the-ground research." [II-2021-06] ✓
  19. Yeti convert: "I came home, like, 'This is changing my life.'" [SIH228] ✓

  22. "50 reasons not to buy stocks today" (Wall Street mentor) [SIH228] ✓
  23. Stansberry = the Yankees: "I hate to use this analogy because I hate the Yankees" [SIH228] ✓

12. Signature lines and voice

  • "You have to be the wolf, not the sheep." [AC2] ✓
  • "I'm the most anti-Wall-Street guy there is." [AC2] ✓
  • "You shouldn't bet on the horse – you bet on the jockey." [AC2] ✓
  • "Use your eyes." [AC2]
  • "Think big-picture, don't go day to day." [SIH228] ✓
  • "Roaring 2020s"; "megatrends"; "innovation investor"; "conversification" [SIH228][BOOK]
  • "teaching people how to do this, that's my passion. I live for this." [AC2] ✓
  • "The key is finding them and buying in before it's on the cover of Barron's because, well, then you're too late." [AC2] ✓
  • MTA era: "Every day we're going to focus on where innovation is headed, not where it has already been." [MTA-FM1]

Spoken voice: "A mile-a-minute talker oozing charisma with a magnetic personality" [AC1] ✓. He is self-deprecating and uses sports and gambling metaphors. Verbal tics: "Listen," "to be honest with you," "Don't get me wrong" [DOSSIER §13]. Emotional throughline for copy: the underdog who must never be "mediocre," the teacher and helper, and optimism about the future over fear [AC1][AC2][SIH228]. Tone caution: the book's Playboy Mansion quip about conversification [BOOK l.6246-6249] and the "suicide hotline" line are older-voice material. They are not MTA-appropriate as written.

13. Conflicts to resolve before copy

  1. TV appearance count: "more than 1,500 times" on Fox Business [MTA-WHO][NXT-AUTH][BIO-DOCX]; the Experts Media section also says 1,500+. Against that: "over 1,000 times… on Fox News, Fox Business, Bloomberg, CNBC, and CNN" [SIH228] (Dan Ferris also says "your 1,000 appearances" ✓); "over 1,000 appearances on Fox Business, CNBC, and CNN" (XAI Chess promo, per our 2026-09-24 section); "1,000+" (FinPub section in Experts); "thousands of times" [AC1] ✓. Legal should pick one.
  2. TV dates and role: documented Fox appearances run 2007–2015. The promo says "the decade I spent on national television." The start and end dates of the paid contract are not found. The role is variously "co-host of Making Money with Charles Payne" [MTA-WHO], "co-hosted a daily investment show… appeared daily… on Making Money" [INVESTOPEDIA], or "panelist," 58 episodes, 2014–15 [WEB-IMDB]. AC2 mentions an unnamed "new morning show on Fox Business."
  3. Degree: a BS in finance from Kutztown [AC1] vs "Master of Science in finance from Kutztown" [INVESTOPEDIA] vs Amazon: "undergraduate degree in finance and an MBA from the University of Colorado" [AMAZON]. The likely reading is BS Kutztown plus MBA CU Denver.
  4. Wall Street Radio title: president [AC1] vs chief technical analyst [INVESTOPEDIA]. The Experts Background uses "chief technical analyst."
  5. Birth year: about 1976 [BOOK][VN2017][SIH228] vs about 1977 ("27-year-old" in 2004) [AC2].
  6. Tesla first recommendation: "I think it was in '09" [SIH228] ✓ vs 2014 [AC2][NXT-PROMO]. The gain is given as 1,854% (2021) vs 3,100% (promo).
  7. Count of 1,000%+ winners: 16 (2019) → 20+ (2020) → 40/45 (2021) → 50+ (2026 bio; also in Experts) [DOSSIER §8b].
  8. CrowdVest start: "In 2016" [IP2020-11] vs chartered Dec 2016 and launched Mar 2017 [VN2017]. "One of the first equity crowdfunding platforms" is soft; SeedInvest and StartEngine came earlier [VN2017].
  9. Penn Financial HQ: Denver → Ridgewood NJ → New York → Baltimore. These most likely reflect moves, not errors.
  10. Book dates: Swing Trader's Bible has a 2008 paperback and a Jan 2009 hardcover; the Experts file gives no year. "Bestselling" has no list behind it. The Whistler blurb on book 2 comes from his book-1 co-author.
  11. Middle name: Denis [IAPD] vs "Matthew S." (a catalog listing) [WEB-ISBN].

14. Still unknown (ask Matt)

  • The exact hometown, high school, and date of birth.
  • Parents' names, and whether his mother is living. Siblings' names.
  • Ex-wife's name and the marriage years. Any current partner. Children.
  • The four colleges before Kutztown. Graduation years at Kutztown and CU Denver.
  • Wall Street Radio dates. The start and end of the Fox contract, and the name of the Fox Business "morning show." Whether Blaze TV Real News is real (single low-quality source).
  • InvestorPlace start date and why he left. Stansberry end date and reason. NXT Wave founding date. The Centurion Publishing link.
  • The name of his podcast ("my podcast," 2020 [SIH172]). His current X handle (it was @MatthewMcCall in 2017 [BNN2017]).
  • Exact town in Nicaragua. Whether he still has the Baltimore studio. Longevity-clinic details.
  • Charities, faith, civic life (none found). What his baseball team is.
  • What "Penn" in Penn Financial Group stands for.

Reconciliation with the existing Experts content above

  • Background section: the Schwab 2000 → Wall Street Radio → Penn Financial 2004 → CrowdVest chronology is confirmed by the dossier. It adds that Schwab started in May 2000 in Denver [SIH172], and that Penn Financial was sold on Oct 1, 2021 [SIH228][IAPD]. The Wall Street Radio title "chief technical analyst" conflicts with "president" [AC1]. See Conflicts.
  • Books: Swing Trader's Bible is co-written with Mark Whistler (2008 pb / Jan 2009 hc). That makes the Whistler testimonial a co-author blurb [DOSSIER §10].
  • Media & Recognition: 1,500+ appearances (Experts) vs 1,000+ (SIH228, the FinPub section above, the XAI promo in our 2026-09-24 section). The Making Money with Charles Payne "co-host" wording vs the IMDb "panelist" wording. See Conflicts.
  • Our 2026-09-24 section: its "thin on personal background" gap is now filled by this section. The Fox "nine stocks" retell (61eb2.txt) matches the Mar 2009 Fox Business web segment [AJ-VIDEO].
  • Rhett's new find: an Investopedia byline dated Jan 22, 2007 ("Losing The Amaranth Gamble") confirms he was then "president of Penn Financial Group, LLC, a registered investment advisor" publishing The ETF Bulletin and The PFG Letter (/workspace/mta/research/mccall/new/bio/investopedia-2007-amaranth-wayback.md).

New recurring-story candidates (add to the Deep bio's recurring stories once Matt confirms he's happy to tell them):

  • His first client, a Boulder couple from a seminar at the Omni, who "took a huge chance on me" and stayed with him for years. Keep them anonymous.
  • PriceSmart runs in Nicaragua as "the epitome of 'boots on the ground' research."
  • Eagles fan walking home from a game in Nashville.

Skipped, and why:

  • The "40 years old… heart disease in my family" aside (2018 video). It's family health information, which is private, and the age conflicts with the DOB.
  • The detail that he borrowed against his Bitcoin to build the Nicaragua house (2026 interview). It's personal finances and reads as a financial claim; keep it out of the bio.
  • "Since $600 a coin" (same interview). It's a performance claim, which belongs with compliance, not in the story section.
  • A friend and fellow analyst living nearby in Nicaragua. That's another person's residence, so it's out for privacy.
  • The Baltimore tailor aside (2021). Trivial.
  • The reason and date he left InvestorPlace and Stansberry. There's no neutral first-hand statement, so it stays unresolved and isn't speculated on.
  • A search-engine summary naming a spouse and daughters. Rhett rejected it as a different Matt McCall (a racing driver). Not used.

Verification notes (not for story or promo copy)

  • Date of birth: February 24, 1976. Verify with Matt. Source: the Library of Congress Name Authority record n2008043305, which reads "(b. Feb. 24, 1976)". It comes from publisher-supplied cataloging data for The Swing Trader's Bible. Both Wiley books carry the heading "McCall, Matthew, 1976-" (/workspace/mta/research/mccall/new/bio/loc-name-authority-n2008043305.md). The date is consistent with the inferred ~1976 in the Deep bio. One small conflict: in a 2018 auto-captioned video he says "I'm 40 years old," but by this date he'd have been 42. That's probably a caption error or a rough figure.
    • Privacy recommendation: an exact birth date does not belong in a promo bio or on-page bio. It adds nothing to credibility and is an identity-theft data point. If age matters in copy, use the decade or "25 years in the markets." Keep the exact date here as a verification record only.
  • Children: in Oct 2018 he said on camera, "don't have a kid" (auto-caption, [00:04:19], youtube-stansberry-alliance-2018-interview.md). Nothing more recent was found. Don't reference children in copy either way without asking Matt.
  • Marital status now: unknown. See the row "He has been married."
